Gold for VSGT Maribor at the AEHT 2025 international competition

At the prestigious international AEHT competition (European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools), held this year in Sweden, Dora Egghart, a student of the Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism Maribor, achieved outstanding success.
In the competition discipline Strategic Thinking, she and her teammates Helena (The Netherlands) and Afonso (Portugal) won first place – the gold medal.
Dora competed under the mentorship of Mitja Petelin, who expertly guided her through the preparation and execution of the challenging strategic assignment, in which participants had to demonstrate creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork in an international environment.
In addition to Dora’s gold‑winning performance, the school was also represented by student Ivana Stojkovič, who competed in the Reception discipline under the mentorship of Helena Rošker.
Their participation highlights the broad professional knowledge and the high quality of education that the Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism Maribor continues to develop successfully at the international level.
A special recognition also goes to Mojca Polak, Director of VSGT Maribor, who was appointed National Representative for Slovenia at the AEHT members’ meeting.
This further confirms the school’s important role within the European network of educational institutions in the fields of hospitality and tourism.
