25 YEARS OF VSGT MARIBOR

A quarter of a century has passed since the story of the Vocational College of Hospitality and Tourism Maribor began. With each passing year our school has spread its wings and consolidated its position. Our first premises were two offices and one classroom with 60 seats at the Regional Chamber of Crafts, in November 2002 we moved to the premises at Zagrebška c. 18, where we stayed until 2015, when we moved to our new premises at Cafova Street 7. 

With the acquisition of modern premises on Cafova, we have further enriched our activities with the opening of Restaurant Sedem, which, thanks to the excellent, creative and hard work of the team of graduates of our school, has made its way into the Michelin Guide and has received the Michelin Plate award.

VSGT Maribor is actively involved in six international associations, we are involved in various international projects, our staff and lecturers participate in international competitions as judges, and we are particularly proud of our Erasmus+ international mobility, as we exchange more students and staff than all Slovenian secondary and higher vocational schools for catering and tourism combined.

From the very beginning, we as a school have been strongly involved and connected with the business sector, co-creating hospitality artists and seeking creative and interesting education opportunities for the modern generation. In these 25 years, 1,318 graduates have graduated from our school and are using their ideas, experience and youthful creativity to co-create hospitality services. And we believe there will be many more to come.

Every day, we are surrounded by exceptional individuals who share their knowledge and experience with students and work together to raise the profile of the hospitality and tourism professions.
