The fourth Velvet Dinner among the vineyards was held on 6 June 2024 and we were part of it. The event is an unforgettable experience – 150 guests indulge in culinary delights at a 70-metre-long table stretching under Maribor’s famous Calvary. A total of 80 students (our students and students from the Maribor Secondary School of Catering and Tourism – SŠGT) worked together and prepared this gastronomic event of the highest quality.
The five-course menu with wine accompaniment was prepared by Lan Verko (SŠGT Maribor) and Klara Šmigoc (VSGT Maribor) and chefs Jorg Zupan, Luka Jezeršek and Sebastjan Plevčak.
The top-class accompaniment was provided by Ana Marija Šavli (VSGT Maribor) and Antonio Pintarič (SŠGT Maribor) under the mentorship of lecturer Lovro Visočnik, bartender David Možič and sommelier Jernej Lubej.
Every year, the event is a collaboration of SŠGT students and our students with renowned experts, renowned chefs. This year, the event highlighted their competences and potential in the hospitality and tourism sector.
The co-organizers of the event were Maribor Tourism , Factumevent Events Organization Company, VSGT Maribor, SŠGT Maribor and Maribor Biotechnical School.
