As part of the FoodTuristic project, funded by Erasmus+, I recently led a dynamic and hands-on workshop at the Vocational College of Hospitality and Tourism Maribor, Slovenia. The focus: exploring how innovative technologies can help reduce food waste in the hospitality and culinary sectors.
Students engaged directly with smart solutions designed to support sustainable practices — from advanced composting systems to air-filtering devices for refrigerators. 🍃🔬
Through practical demonstrations and meaningful discussions, we highlighted the value of composting, reducing landfill waste, and fostering circular thinking within our educational institutions. The creativity and insight shown by these future professionals were truly impressive.
They also contributed thoughtful ideas for real-world food waste reduction — proving that the next generation is ready to lead by example.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. The journey toward a more sustainable future continues! 💪🌱
