Ivana is the best young tourist guide

At the national competition for the Young Tourist Guide of Slovenia, held this year on 22 October in Ptuj, Ivana Stojkovič, a student of VSGT, triumphed among 15 competitors. With her exceptionally polished and confident guiding performance, she impressed the expert jury and earned the Gold Badge, the competition’s highest distinction. Two other VSGT students, Melani Čeh and Živa Koražija, also took part in the event and narrowly missed placing among the top three.
The competition, organized for the twelfth time by the Tourist Association of Slovenia, is intended for young people aged 16 to 29 who wish to gain experience and knowledge in the field of tourist guiding. Ivana demonstrated not only professional expertise but also a remarkable passion for storytelling and for connecting cultural heritage with visitor experiences.
As her prize, she received a voucher to take the national tourist guide licensing exam, opening the door to a professional future in tourist guiding. Her victory also reflects the high quality of education at VSGT Maribor, which equips students with the competencies needed to meet the contemporary challenges of the tourism industry.
