VSGT once again demonstrated its outstanding quality at the 15th Quality Conference

At the 15th Conference on Quality in Higher Vocational Education, held on 22 January 2026 at the School of Economics Celje, the VSGT Maribor once again stood out as an example of excellence, professionalism, and strong collaboration with its wider environment.
At the conference, representatives of schools, industry, and key institutions discussed the future of quality in education. Particularly noteworthy was the roundtable on pilot targeted quality assessments of higher vocational colleges, where our lecturer Mitja Petelin took part as one of the experts, further confirming the important role of VSGT in the development of quality standards at the national level.
This was followed by presentations of good practices and professional contributions. Our lecturer Helena Rošker presented her professional article on the successful Chair Massage Break project, which was piloted at our school last year. To illustrate the project more vividly, student Leja Polutnik performed a chair massage on an audience representative during the presentation.
As part of the conference, the Community of Higher Vocational Colleges (Skupnost VSŠ) awarded recognitions for long‑term quality work and prizes for the best diploma theses. Our lecturers, mentors, and students who received awards were:
Students Ema Štruklec and Zala Hostnik received recognition in the category Best Diploma Thesis 2025.
Helena Rošker received the award for Best Thesis Mentor, and Urša Bitenc Hernčič received the award for Best Industry Mentor for Diploma Work.
Marina Škrubej received the award for Best Mentor in an External Organisation.
Recognitions from the Community of Higher Vocational Colleges for outstanding professional achievements, promotion of the field, and contributions to higher vocational education were awarded to Mojca Polak, Katja Zadravec, Tadej Ljubec, and Tanja Abarca Kokol, while Nataša Bučar received recognition for her innovative and dedicated work in improving the quality of school operations.
The conference once again confirmed that higher vocational colleges—including VSGT Maribor—are key creators of practical, modern, and high‑quality knowledge that shapes the future of Slovenian professional education.
